OUC plans potential new energy plant

Orlando Utilities Commission has taken the first steps on a partnership for a potential power storage solution to help its renewable energy goals.

The utility on Jan. 5 announced an agreement to explore the use of Malta Inc.’s 100-megawatt long-duration energy storage power plant. The project is being considered on a 50-acre site where OUC’s Indian River Plant is located in Brevard County.
