Bad weather last year, cancels out youth turkey shoot this year

For years, youth had the opportunity to hunt the Killbuck Marsh Wildlife Area during the spring turkey season through a special drawing, but due to last summer’s damaging wind storms, there will be no youth hunts on the KMWA this spring.

“We had a pretty good hatch, but we lost most of the turkeys with the storm,” said KMWA manager Dennis Solon. “You want the kids to have a good hunt, and to at least hear some gobbles, but we need to give the area some time now to recover.”
