Over $1 billion needed to rebuild destroyed hospitals – Ukraine’s Health Ministry

"The Health Ministry is currently finalizing a plan for the recovery of the healthcare system, which is part of the large-scale Ukraine Recovery Plan. This is a comprehensive document, which includes not only the rebuilding of healthcare infrastructure after the war, but also the reshaping of the entire healthcare system in li with the best European principles, so that Ukrainians in every oblast could have access to high-quality and free medical services," said Yaremenko.

Currently, the Ukrainian healthcare system is preparing to work in the event of a complete blackout in Ukraine, he added.

"Ukrainian doctors perform the most complex operations even in the absence of electricity. Babies are born amid blackouts. Our ambulances rush to the rescue of patients even without lighting and communications. Doctors do incredible things, and our goal is to provide them with everything they need and to prepare the healthcare system as much as possible for work in emergencies," Yaremenko said.
