Over 100K march for LGBTQ+ rights in Vienna

STORY: Sunshine and minimal COVID-19 restrictions made for a relaxed atmosphere around City Hall, where participants, some dressed in colorful costumes, gathered for the Rainbow Parade through the historic city center.

"Why I am here is very clear," said parade participant, Walter. "One should protect the rights of those who love and live their love in society differently than we might. That is not a given. Especially in the present time, it is not like that in all countries. And I think that is a high value that we have to protect."

The organizers of Vienna's 22nd Rainbow Parade announced they are expecting up to 220,000 people to take part in the march.
