Over 2,000 private, 800 high-rise buildings damaged by Russian attacks on Chernihiv

The regional authorities noted that preparations for the construction of new housing are already underway. People who lost their homes now live mostly with relatives and friends.
The Red Cross will help with the construction of temporary housing. About $3.5 million have already been allocated. The question of what temporary housing will be constructed is currently being discussed: a modular town, individual modular or multi-apartment temporary buildings.
"Among the priorities of our work is the resettlement of people left without housing,” said Kostyantyn Mehem, the first deputy head of the Chernihiv administration.

“We currently have expert opinions on two buildings in Chernihiv that are not subject to restoration. In particular, we are talking about a high-rise building in the city center, on Chornovola Street, and a 250-room dormitory in the ZAZ neighborhood.
It is difficult to say anything about providing people with a permanent place of residence. But they should be provided with temporary shelter before the cold weather sets in".

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian troops have continuously bombed and shelled Chernihiv, having failed to invade the city.

Mayor of Chernihiv Vladyslav Atroshenko, previously stated that it will take at least four years to rebuild the city after the shelling of the Russian invaders.
