Over 70 pounds of honey produced from prison beekeeping program
There’s a lot of buzz surrounding a program at one Georgia Department of Correction facility.

The residents at the Atlanta Transitional Center produced a harvest of 72 pounds of honey from the beekeeping program.

The Georgia Department of Corrections thanked the University of Georgia and Young Harris College for their partnership.
The partnership allows residents to learn more about horticulture and beekeeping.

According to a University of Georgia release, in 2015 the Georgia Beekeepers Association and UGA’s Honey Bee Lab, partnered to form the Prison Beekeeping Program.
