WIll Chase Claypool go over/under 89.5 rec yards in week 6

Video Transcript

ANDY BEHRENS: All right, it's over/under number 2, and we are not discussing a kicker here. That's Minty's department. We are instead going to talk about Chase Claypool. He's been good lately.

And we're gonna set the number for his receiving yards at 89 and a 1/2. Listen, he's hit this in two straight weeks, and he's facing a Seattle defense that allows over 300 passing yards per game. I can easily make the argument here no JuJu Smith-Schuster in this one. So presumably that might mean an extra target or two for Claypool.

But I just have a difficult time taking the over on any player who is tied to Ben Roethlisberger right now. You look at Ben on the season. His intended air yards per target? It's just 6.9. That's like, bottom third in the league. He's only averaging 6.6 yards per attempt.

And somehow on all these short throws, he's not really completing very many. He's only completing about 63% of his passes, so I just can't do it. I'm hoping for a touchdown from Claypool. I got him everywhere, but I'm gonna take the under on this one. Matt, what say you?

MATT HARMON: Andy, you were making so many good points there about how this is such a great spot for Chase Claypool, and then you like hard turned on it and went to the under. No, give me the over on this one. I think not having JuJu Smith-Schuster out there is huge because it's going to allow Chase Claypool to bump into two wide receiver sets, which has basically been the thing that's been holding him back so far.

Obviously, his quarterback too is gonna hold him back. That's gonna hold the entire team back. But I think Chase Claypool being out there in 12 personnel and two wide receiver sets like, this is huge news for Chase Claypool.

We also saw him rip to big plays from the slot last week. Diontae Johnson's only been targeted out of this like slot I think on 5% of his overall targets. So I think maybe we see Chase Claypool take some of those JuJu reps as that big slot receiver. Give me the over against a really, really bad Seahawks defense. I think this is huge news for Chase Claypool.

ANDY BEHRENS: Oh, I actually hope you're right. Tank, break this tie.

TANK WILLIAMS: Come closer. Come closer. Now breath in. Doesn't that smell extra minty? Because I'm going with the under. Like, I understand all this stuff you're saying like Chase Claypool has gone over this number like twice in the past couple of weeks and all that. And trust me, like, I need this Pittsburgh Steelers offense to go off too, but not Claypool. I need it to be my man, Diontae Johnson, streaking on the outside.

But this is where I have the issue with Claypool. Like, we understand like if you play stocks-- like AMC, GME, even Bitcoin earlier this year-- they go sky high. But you'll eventually have to come down to cool off.

I feel like after going two weeks in a row, Big Ben dealing with the injuries and everything else, this is gonna be his cooling off period. I feel like the Steelers want this to be a Najee Harris game. Claypool is also dealing with the hammy too. Even though he's gonna play, that hammy may come into play.

So that's why I feel like you may have to temper your expectations. Chill out, get a little minty. Cool off. He's gonna be fine. But 89 and 1/2? Nah, we're going under that.

ANDY BEHRENS: Oh, man. You actually lured me in. I'm like six inches closer to the camera than I normally am. That was fantastic. Matt, save us here.
