Overhead wire repairs cause some changes to NJ Transit schedule. Here are the details

The NJ Transit Morristown Line will be operating on a modified schedule starting Tuesday and ongoing until further notice due to overhead wire repairs near Mount Tabor, according to NJ Transit.

As a result of the modified schedule, some trains will not operate, some will be making additional stops, and some trains will be rerouted. Those that are rerouted will operate on the Montclair-Boonton Line between Denville and Newark Broad Street Station (NBS).

See the NJ Transit website for the full timetables including cancellations, rerouted trains, and trains with additional stops.

"We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we continue to work around the clock to restore full service on the Morristown Line as quickly and safely as possible," said NJ Transit.

Some travel notes from NJ Transit during this time:

If you are traveling eastbound from Morristown or Convent stations you are encouraged to arrive early, allowing extra time for potential track changes.

NJ Transit reported a 20-minute delay on the Morris-Essex line Tuesday morning due to the work.

If you plan to travel west of Morristown, you should use the Montclair-Boonton Line from either the Morristown or Denville stations.

There will be no direct service from Morristown, Convent, Madison, or Chatham stations to Hoboken. Those traveling to Hoboken can transfer at Summit Station or NBS.

Additionally, cross-honoring will be available with NJ Transit bus service and Newark Light Rail. NJ Transit rail tickets will not be cross-honored with PATH or Private Carrier bus service.

Local NJ Transit buses will be available between Morris Plains and Morristown stations on routes 872, 875, and 880.
