Overland Park officials looking for tips in arson fire

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Overland Park officials are investigating a suspected arson fire at the Brookridge Country Club clubhouse, but they need more help.

The Overland Park Fire Department said it’s offering up to $2,000 in reward money for any information that leads to an arrest.

The fire happened early Jan. 15 at the vacant Brookridge Country Club clubhouse near 105th Street and Antioch Road. Firefighters called it a second-alarm fire due to heavy smoke, fire and extreme weather with temperatures below zero that day.

No one was hurt, but the building was heavily damaged. Crews also had to close down nearby streets for several hours.
