One lane of westbound Interstate 70 near the Rocheport Bridge at the Missouri River will be closed overnights next week as crews install concrete barriers in the median as part of a Missouri Department of Transportation project to replace the bridge.

The closures are planned from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night, starting Monday. The barrier installation is expected to be complete by next Friday.

"The barrier being installed will replace the guard cable in the median, providing more safety for motorists and workers in that area as work progresses on the new bridges," MoDOT said in a news release.

In the coming weeks, crews will begin more work along the median and roadway, also requiring nightly lane closures, MoDOT said.

This work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
