NEW YORK — “Real Housewives” executive producer and talk show host Andy Cohen used a spirited New Year’s Eve countdown on CNN to share his thoughts on the “crappiest term of the mayor of New York” by Bill de Blasio.

“The only thing that Democrats and Republicans can agree on is what a horrible mayor he has been,” Cohen shouted and stammered.

CNN personality Anderson Cooper, playing the role of straight man in Cohen’s bit, tried unsuccessfully to talk his co-host down.

“Don’t go on a rant,” Cooper asked repeatedly.

Cohen, who hosts the Bravo network’s “Watch What Happens When,” only seemed encouraged by Cooper’s efforts to rein him in.

“So, sayonara, sucker!” Cohen said to the outgoing mayor.

Cohen also boasted that come New Year’s Eve 2022, he expected to be back in Times Square while a different mayor occupied Gracie Mansion.

On Saturday morning, Cohen offered an explanation of sorts for his outburst.

“Good morning!” he tweeted. “Um, I was a bit overserved last night.”

Not everyone was buying his excuse.

“I was never a fan of Mr. de Blasio but blasing (sic) him on TV as you were ringing in the New Year was classless;” tweeted one social media user. “You should’ve taken the higher road and please don’t blame it on being overserved. Do better!”

Some wondered if a national cable news outlet was wise in giving Cohen their platform. Others thought CNN was the perfect place for the reality TV innovator to bid adieu to the two-term mayor. Cohen and Cooper’s boozy shindig left viewers wondering how they can have that much fun at home.

“I need to know what you guys were drinking!” tweeted another viewer. “Need some of that for 2022.”

De Blasio, who was succeeded by Eric Adams, saw a steady drop in his favorability ratings throughout 2021.
