Overturned semi-truck causes nightmare commute in Riverside

The Monday morning commute for drivers in Riverside was heavily impacted by a semi-truck that overturned and blocked several lanes.

Caltrans live traffic cameras captured the aftermath of the crash, which took place on the eastern span of the 91 Freeway at Spruce Street around 7 a.m.

Debris was strewn across the roadway after it fell out of the truck’s container, the traffic camera footage showed.

The westbound 60 Freeway interchange with the northbound 215 Freeway was shut down because of the crash.

“Tow units [are on scene] to try and help upright this thing and get it out of here,” KTLA 5 traffic reporter Ginger Chan said. “But then [crews] still have to take care of whatever it was that leaked into the roadway.”
