Riverdale man dies in I-287 dump truck crash near Oakland
A Riverdale man died in after the dump truck he was driving crashed and flipped over on I-287 near Oakland, New Jersey State Police said.
Ronald E. Appel, 56, was driving south on the highway when the truck hit a guardrail near milepost 59.8. Authorities shut down part of I-287 south Thursday morning.
The closures started north of Skyline Drive but stopped before Ramapo Valley Road.
