A new lunchroom at one Central Florida high school looks like something you would see at a college.

School officials said the new cafeterias are about more than just food.

Students have their choice of Asian or Mexican food, a pizzeria, The Roost which specializes in chicken tenders, nuggets and sandwiches and a coffee bar.

Officials said all the food is prepared fresh every day.

District officials hope the new lunchroom will entice students to stay on campus as opposed to getting in their cars and driving to a local restaurant.

In 2018, Channel 9 reported how Red Apple Dinning remodeled Lake Brantley high’s cafeteria.

“We probably had a 30 to 40% increase in students that were actually participating and purchasing meals or getting meals through free reduced meal program. So, we expect those same results here,” said Jamie Devivo, director of Red Apple Dinning.

District used meal revenue to pay for the upgrades.

This year, the district increased meal prices.

Prices are the same as at any other Seminole high school. $3.75 for lunch and $2.75 for breakfast.
