Sep. 12—Despite starting the season 0-2 for the first time in program history, Kennesaw State remained in the STATS Perform FCS top 25 at No. 23 on Monday.

The Owls, who were ranked No. 8 to start the season, were upset in the season opener by Samford and then fell last weekend to College Football Playoff participant Cincinnati 63-10.

KSU is off this week and will host Wofford in the home opener at Fifth Third Bank Stadium on Sept. 24. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The top five teams in the poll remained the same. North Dakota State was No. 1, followed by South Dakota State, Montana, Montana State and Missouri State.

Incarnate Word moved to No. 6 after a dominating 55-14 win at Nevada. Villanova, Sacramento State, Delaware and Chattanooga round out the top 10.

Owls' ASUN conference foe Eastern Kentucky made its debut in the poll at No. 19. The Colonels defeated Bowling Green 59-57 in seven overtimes. Austin Peay was not in the poll, but it was receiving votes.

Other teams of note include Jackson State (No. 11), UT Martin (No. 16), East Tennessee State (No. 18), Mercer (No. 20) and Samford (No. 24).
