Cyndi Jo Brady, owner of Cherryville’s new floral shop Noble Artistry, thought that she would be a hospice nurse for the rest of her life.

Until 2022, Brady had been in the nursing industry with a focus on hospice nursing for 27 years.

However, her own father’s transition to hospice care last year made Brady realize she wanted a change.

“I asked my dad what he thought about me going back into flowers, and he gave me his blessing and then he passed away,” Brady said. “In April (of 2022) I started Noble Artistry, named after him because he’s from Noble, Illinois.”

By September of last year, Brady’s business had grown into its first brick and mortar location on East Main Street in Lincolnton, and last month, Brady welcomed the community to Noble Artistry’s second location at 215 E. Main St. in Cherryville.

Despite a nearly 30 year hiatus, this is not Brady’s first time working with flowers.

“I started out in flowers when I was 15 at a flower shop,” Brady said. “Then as I went through college from 15 to 25, I worked at different flower shops depending on where I was living.”

In addition to her personal past in the industry, floral work is part of Brady’s family history.

Her paternal grandfather was also in the flower business.

“He grew gladiolus flowers, so he had flowers he would sell at a farmer’s market many, many years ago,” Brady said.

In opening Noble Artistry, Brady has once again brought floral work into the Brady family story, working with her mother, Susan Schnell-Zeman, and daughter, Adeline Brady.

Brady’s favorite arrangements are those she makes for weddings and funerals.

“I love my brides. I have been so blessed to have just the most super couple sweet brides,” Brady said. “Because of my hospice, and this sounds crazy, I also love the funeral pieces as well because I want to make sure we are giving them something to remember their loved ones.”

In addition to special event bouquets, Noble Artistry also offers retail items for purchase to go with floral arrangements and everyday bouquets.

In coming years, Brady hopes to build a relationship of trust with the people of Cherryville.

“If they tell me that they want something in particular, then I’m going to try my best to get that certain thing,” Brady said.

Noble Artistry’s Cherryville location is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. - noon.
