Owner sells downtown Clermont brewery, lists nearby marketplace

A busy Clermont developer has sold one of his signature properties in the city’s historic downtown district, with another under contract and a third hitting the market.

Darren Johnson, who has built a portfolio of downtown Clermont hospitality properties and has more in the works, sold Clermont Brewing Co. to a Brazilian investment group late last month.

The transaction included two components, with a deed posted to Lake County records reflecting a sale price of $1.6 million to Clermont-based Ramada Investments LLC for the property at 750 W. Desoto St.
