Ownership of Mother's Brewing Company is changing, as Jeff Schrag prepares to step down

Ownership will soon be changing at Mother's Brewing Company.

Mother's Chief Executive Officer Jeff Schrag, who opened the microbrewery in 2011, announced on Tuesday that he is stepping down from his position. In his place, Jeff and Lindsay Seifried will take over the brewery's daily operations.

With backgrounds in marketing and sales, the Seifried's plan on expanding the brewery's Barrel Room to accommodate weddings and corporate events, with the goal to become "one of Springfield's finest event venues," a news release states.

"Lindsay and I have loved Mother's Brewing since it opened in 2011 and have watched it become one of Springfield's and Missouri's top craft beer brands, we look forward to building on the legacy Jeff Schrag built," Jeff Seifried said in a news release.

In the interim, until his retirement, Schrag will continue to assist with sales and operations. The Schrag's will also remain a minority investor in the company.

More information about the change in ownership will be announced as a news conference on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Mother's Taproom.
