Oxford schools to reopen buildings Wednesday after threat shuttered for one day
Oxford Community Schools will reopen its elementary and middle school buildings Wednesday after a law enforcement sweep of schools deemed them safe.
The district had received a threat on social media about the middle school Monday. It closed all buildings on Tuesday and brought law enforcement officials in to investigate.
"All schools have been cleared by law enforcement to safely resume classes on Wednesday, Dece. 15," the district posted on its website midday Tuesday. The high school will remain closed. It's been closed since a Nov. 30 shooting at the school killed four students and wounded six other students and a teacher.
The school board is scheduled to hold its first board meeting since the shooting Tuesday evening at the middle school.

Following the Oxford shooting, there have been a flurry of threats made on social media to schools all over Michigan.
Last week, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced she has issued charges against 23 youths for making threats of violence, with another 10 under investigation.
