Visitors to Downtown's North Market will soon be able to down some fresh sliders of the seafood sort.

The folks who run Coastal Local Seafood/Coast to Local Market in both North Markets are opening an oyster bar in the original North Market, 59 Spruce St.

The bar and the fish shop will be called COLO, following a dispute over the word "Coastal" in the company's name. COLO's seafood operations will take over the space formerly occupied by Tajine House and Park Street Poultry and Game in the North Market. Tajine House has moved into a stall formerly occupied by Preston's: A Burger Joint, which moved to Clintonville.

"We've changed the name again," Coastal Local owner Ian Holmes said in a news release. "Due to a frivolous legal dispute over the word 'Coastal,' we condensed Coastal Local to simply COLO. Despite this, our commitment to high-quality food and services remains unchanged."

In addition, COLO will open a butcher and poultry business in Coastal Local Seafood's current space in the North Market, replacing the service once filled by Park Street Poultry.

"I'm also thrilled to have the opportunity to expand our fresh business at North Market Downtown," Holmes said.

The changes are underway now and are expected to be completed this summer.

"We knew we could trust Ian to reinvent the fresh butcher and poultry space along with a new prepared food concept, as these are very important components to North Market's mission," Rick Harrison Wolfe, North Market's executive director and CEO, said in a news release.

The COLO change are the latest in several changes underway at the market, as construction gets underway on the 32-story Merchant tower on the market's parking lot.
