P.F. Chang’s Will Fly You Out To Vegas And Pay You $25K To Create Their Next Menu Item
Out of alllll the items on P.F. Chang's menu, the lettuce wrap is without a doubt the most iconic. So when it gets an upgrade, it's serious business. And this time around, the restaurant is putting the power in the hands of the people. Enter: the Freestyle Lettuce Wrap Contest.
Here's how it works: Now through July 30, anyone can submit their idea for a new flavor combination—no recipe needed, just an idea for what kind of lettuce wrap you want to see on the menu next. Between August 10 and 19, P.F. Chang's fans will be able to vote for their favorites—the top 10 finalists earn a $100 gift card to the restaurant.
The top three finalists will be flown out to Las Vegas to work with a P.F. Chang's chef to develop an actual recipe from the idea. Then, a good old-fashioned cook-off will take place where a panel of judges will determine the winner. That person will receive bragging rights, a spot on P.F. Chang's menus nationwide, and a casual $25,000.
If you're somehow not into the whole cooking competition aspect of this, you can still get in on the fun and maybe win a trip to Vegas: For every vote cast through August 19, you'll be automatically entered to win a P.F. Chang’s gift card or a trip to watch the final cook-off competition out west. And come 2020, the winning lettuce wrap will be on menus everywhere, possibly becoming a permanent addition if it's well received.
