PA Turnpike announces upcoming road closure

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has announced planned closures on the PA Turnpike.

According to the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Interstate 476 (northeast extension) will be closed southbound on February 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. between the Pocono Interchange Exit 95 and the State Route 903 Interchange, Exit 87, Carbon County.

Southbound Detour:

  • Take I-80 east (7.8 miles) to PA 115 south (1.8 miles) to PA 903 south (7.1 miles).  Re-enter the PA Turnpike at the State Route 903 Interchange, Exit 87.

The release states the closure is for the protection of motorists and workers so they can safely make roadway repairs.
