Brock Pacheco (shown in action from last fall) had himself a huge night, guiding Mt. Hope to a win over Narragansett on Friday.

The cool weather in Bristol on Friday made it a perfect night to take in a Brock Show.

Mt. Hope’s Brock Pacheco took over the game and put on a memorable performance, rushing for 230 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Huskies past Narragansett, 25-6.

With Pacheco leading the way, Mt. Hope dominated on both sides of the ball. Ben Calouro caught a 55-yard touchdown pass from Riley Howland in the win. Mike Lombardi, Ben Martel and Colin Maloney led the Huskies’ ferocious pass-rush that limited the Mariners’ high-powered offense. Lombardi also had a fumble recovery in the win.

Mt. Hope kicker J.J. Pimental also got in the act, burying a 42-yard bomb through a tough wind that tormented the state.

In their first game of the fall, the Kilties showed off their explosive offense and held on for a 26-20 win over the Broncos.

Jelon King ran 11 times for 98 yards and had a 13-yard score and also went 15 of 23 passing for 160 yards, including a 26-yard TD pass to Jorge Ventura. Jadiel Diaz had the other Mount Pleasant score, rushing for a 1-yard touchdown.

Guy Bamba – a Providence Journal Preseason All-State selection – was a monster on the field for Tolman. Bamba disrupted the Middletown passing attack, coming up with three sacks and seven tackles for loss in the win.

Scoreless through three quarters, the Tigers got the only score they would need when Jayden Hall punched one home from five yards out with 5:44 left to play. Ponaganset 34, Johnston 15

Jason Pincince and Nick Baccala paced the Cheiftains’ ground game in a 34-15 win over the Panthers.

Pincince got the job done with his legs as well. He ran 13 times for 78 yards and two touchdowns, getting Ponaganset’s first TD on a 5-yard run in the second and giving the team the lead for good with a 15-yard run in the third.

Ponaganset’s defense put an exclamation point on the win, getting a strip sack that Gianlucca Bachini picked up and took back 26 yards for a touchdown.

Johnston started hot, as Dean Paris caught a TD pass early in the second quarter to take an 8-0 lead. The Panthers didn’t get on the board again until the fourth when Steve Finegan found the end zone.

With the defense in control, Andreni Maldonado added a touchdown in the second quarter to help the Warriors close the win out.
