Pacific Northwest is an alright place to date according to new report

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Thinking about throwing your hat in the dating ring? Maybe looking for a new boo in the new year?

In a new report, WalletHub ranked the best and worst states for singles in 2024 and the Pacific Northwest found itself right in the middle of the pack.

Oregon landed itself the middling 23rd spot on the list and Washington found itself sitting at number 20, getting a bump up for having the most online dating opportunities in the country the report says.

In the report, each of the states was graded on things like the number of single adults, the gender balance of singles, dating opportunities, costs and more.

Curiously, in a report by WalletHub last month Portland was ranked number 10 in the country as one of the best cities for singles and Seattle took home the gold medal.

When it came to the best states for singles, Florida, Texas and California led the pack, and the worst state award went to West Virginia.
