Packed crowd sees an exciting City/County All-Star football game in Fresno

There was no tie this time in the 69th City/County All-Star high school football game.
Even so, if the game ended in regulation, there would be overtime.
The County made sure that didn’t happen.
And they can thank Trace Jackson of Kingsburg for that.
Jackson finished the game with two touchdowns in the County’s 19-14 victory over City in front of a packed crowd at McLane Stadium in Fresno on Friday evening.
The County had to play early catchup in the first half when the City led 6-0 on John Eubanks’ 7-yard touchdown reception from Ya’J Vance.
The County then scored 19 unanswered points, thanks to two touchdowns by Jackson. The first touchdown was on a 12-yard reception from Caruthers’ Collin Hirschkorn. In between two field goals by Julio Ayala of Kerman, Jackson scored his second touchdown when he caught a 25-yard pass from Central’s Dayton Tafoya.
The City tried to get back in the game in the fourth quarter when Vance escaped pressure and found Ramon Ruiz of San Joaquin Memorial for an 83-yard touchdown.
The City got the ball back and were in County’s territory at the 47-yard line, but Vance threw an incompletion that sealed the game.
In the 2022 game, the game ended in a 21-21 tie.
