Packer nation feeling blue after Saturday’s playoff loss

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Packers fans were heartbroken after Saturday’s playoff loss to the top-seeded San Francisco 49ers.

Jerry Plourde from Escanaba, Michigan says, “Some of the plays we almost had were so crucial.”

The Packers entered the game as underdogs, as the first 7th seeded team to ever make it through the Wild Card round. While they kept it close throughout, the Packers fell short 24-21. The game was disappointing for many, but fans are excited for what the future holds for this team.

For the latest on the Green Bay Packers:

Plourde says, “We’re Packer fans for life, and we were very excited. At the same time, we’re disappointed, and we just hope and pray that next year we go all the way to the Super Bowl.”

“As a fan, you want to go into it with high expectations, but they’re a young team, so I didn’t expect them honestly to make it as far as they did, and the second half of the season was phenomenal,” Nikki Soukup from Green Bay says.

Randy Peterson from Crystal Falls, Michigan, shares a similar sentiment saying, “They surprised everybody, even by just getting to the playoffs. The way it started off and it wasn’t as great as what we thought, but turned it around in the long run and I thought it was a great season.”

The 49ers will now face the winner of the Lions vs. Buccaneers match-up in the NFC Championship game.
