Packers FAN Hall of Fame's 10 finalists offer fan voters interesting choices
GREEN BAY ‒ One nominee for the Green Bay Packers FAN Hall of Fame made his girlfriend take a test on Packers' history to see if he could marry her. Another used a Packers jersey instead of a ring to propose. And yet a third took his new wife's last name — it is Packer — because the opportunity was too good to pass up.
All of the 10 finalists for the Packers FAN Hall of Fame have stories of romance, if you take into account love for the Packers as well. In short, voters are going to have a lot to consider when they help pick the 25th member of the FAN Hall of Fame. Online voting is open until Jan. 31 at packers.com/fans/fan-hall-of-fame-voting where profiles of each finalist also are available.
Packers fans were asked to nominate themselves or a friend with an essay of 500 words or less, accompanied by a photo, explaining why he or she should be recognized. Ten finalists were selected by the Packers FAN Hall of Fame selection committee. The final selection is made by voters, the selection committee and previous inductees.
Last year's inductee was Jeff Yasick of Mazomanie.
The finalists are:
Brittany Bogan of Green Bay
John Breske of Elderon
Patrick Egle of Redlands, California
Rodney Goodrich of Stetsonville
Jimmy Krueger of Dallas, Texas
Julie Lankey-Smallwood of Wonewoc
Ryan Packer of Milwaukee
Noam Sturm of Avon, Connecticut
Robert Thom of Neenah
Christopher Windisch of Williston Park, New York
The winner will be announced in late winter 2023. They will receive four club seats to a 2023 Packers home game; a $500 Packers Pro Shop gift certificate; a road trip for two to a 2023 Packers away game, including game tickets, air fare and hotel accommodations; and a one-year subscription to PackersNews.com. And they'll have their name added to the list of FAN Hall of Fame honorees recognized in the Packers Hall of Fame.
Voters will be entered into a random drawing to win Packers merchandise.
