GREEN BAY - Several former Packers players will be piling into a bus Wednesday at Lambeau Field and hitting the road for the second annual Packers Road Trip to meet with fans across Wisconsin and kick off the upcoming season.

Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy will join Tramon Williams, James Starks, Mike Neal, Tony Moll, Jason Spitz and Scott Wells to travel throughout western and central Wisconsin in the Packers-themed bus, presenting donations and giveaway items along the way, the team announced in a news release.

From July 13 to 17, the group will make surprise stops in and around New London, Waupaca, Wausau, Thorp, Hudson, Prescott, La Crosse, Onalaska, Wisconsin Rapids and Stevens Point, the release said. Stops will include schools, hospitals, businesses, camps, event venues and community centers.

"We are looking forward to hitting the road and connecting with many Packers fans across the state," said Cathy Dworak, director of community outreach and player/alumni relations. "It’s always special to experience the enthusiasm of our fans who don’t have the opportunity to visit Lambeau Field on a regular basis. We also are excited to give some surprise donations to nonprofits at a variety of stops along the way."

Formerly called the Packers Tailgate Tour, the event was revamped last year as the more laid-back Packers Road Trip, which traveled a total of 598 miles over the course of four days. The Packers 15th annual Tailgate Tour was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, fans will have the chance to meet six alumni, five of whom were on the Super Bowl XLV team that beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2011 to win the Vincent Lombardi trophy.

The Packers Road Trip will depart from Lambeau Field at 8 a.m. Wednesday and return on July 17.
