SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego Padres have signed left-handed reliever Wandy Peralta to a four-year contract through the 2027 season, President of Baseball Operations and General Manager A.J. Preller announced Friday.

The contract contains opt-outs after each of the first three seasons. Peralta will make $3.35 million this year, followed by a $4.25 million a player option for 2025 and $4.45 million options for the next two years.

The free-agent reliever spent the last three seasons with the New York Yankees (2021-23), having previously played for the Cincinnati Reds (2016-19), San Francisco Giants (2019-21).

Peralta owns a 19–18 record and 3.88 ERA (149 ER, 345.2 IP) in 385 career appearances (one start) with 13 saves, 82 games finished, 291 strikeouts, 8.1 hits allowed per 9.0 IP, and a .241 (311-for-1,293) batting average against, the Padres stated in the announcement.

Peralta joins Yuki Matsui and Woo Suk Go as free-agent pickups.

The native of San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic was originally signed by the Reds as an international free agent in 2009.  Peralta is represented by The MAS+ Agency.

The Associated Press reports Peralta will be reunited with right-hander Michael King, one of five players who came over from the Yankees in the blockbuster trade that sent slugger Juan Soto and outfielder Trent Grisham to New York in early December.
