Paige Bueckers adds NIL deal with Nerf, competes in fun competition with UConn teammate Azzi Fudd

UConn women’s basketball star Paige Bueckers has a name, image and likeness (NIL) deal with another top brand.

Bueckers is one of 12 NCAA athletes athletes to join Hasbro’s launch of “Nerf Blitz.” Oregon’s Sedona Prince, North Carolina men’s basketball stars Armando Bacot and RJ Davis, and Michigan football’s A.J. Henning and RJ Moten are some of the other participating athletes.

As part of the Nerf Blitz campaign, Bueckers competed with Husky teammate Azzi Fudd in a two-leg relay race at the UConn practice facility.

Bueckers posted the fun video on social media, though it was Fudd who came out on top. Bueckers finished the challenge, which involved making two shots on a Nerf hoop and then knocking down cups using the Nerf Elite 2.0 Motoblitz Blaster, in 49 seconds, while Fudd finished in 31 seconds. That meant Fudd got to douse Bueckers with a Nerf Super Soaker at the end.

As part of the campaign, Nerf and its roster of college athletes will donate products to select charity organizations in their local communities. Bueckers chose to donate to Connecticut Children’s.

Along with Nerf, Bueckers also has NIL deals with Gatorade, Bose, StockX, Crocs and Cash App, among others. She is out for the 2022-23 season with a torn ACL.
