A pair of Manchester restaurants set to close

Jul. 23—MANCHESTER — After 10 years of service, Bui Vietnamese Cuisine, located at 964 Main St. is closing.

Though the owners declined to comment on the closure of the restaurant, which also offered its own jarred chili paste for sale, an announcement was made on the restaurant's Facebook page on March 26.

"We are blessed enough to say that other opportunities have presented themselves to the family, and we feel now is the right time to step out of the industry and into other ventures," the post said. "The family and I wish to thank everyone for 10 wonderful years of business. Your support means the world to us and we couldn't have asked for a better crowd."

No final closing date has been posted, but the restaurant's website has been shut down and they have reduced their business hours to Thursday through Saturday with lunch hours from noon to 3 p.m. and dinner hours from 4:30 to 9 p.m.

Bui Vietnamese Cuisine isn't the only closure in downtown Manchester. After about half a year, Mexican deli, El Sol, at 631 Main St., shuttered its doors as well.

Dan Pesce, downtown economic development specialist for the town of Manchester, said he didn't have any specific information as to what caused both businesses to close.

"We're certainly sorry to see any business close, but we continue to see lots of interest from a variety of retail businesses in downtown," Pesce said in an email to the JI. "The hope is that those locations won't be empty for long.
