Pairings for Beaver Valley teams announced for 2023 PIAA basketball playoffs

Another exciting regular season of WPIAL basketball for Beaver Valley teams has come and gone, with two boys' basketball teams in the Class 2A Aliquippa Quips and the Class 4A Lincoln Park Leopards claiming WPIAL championships in their respective classifications.

On top of the two championships, three area teams — two girls' teams and one boys' team — finished as WPIAL runner-ups as the Freedom Area girls finished second in Class 2A and the Blackhawk girls finished second in Class 4A, while the OLSH boys finished second in Class 3A.

All five teams earned trips to the PIAA state playoffs, along with four other teams, all in girls' basketball. Aliquippa, OLSH, Quaker Valley and Beaver's girls' basketball teams are all headed to the state tournament, which kicks off Friday night across all classifications.

The Times will have postseason analysis and stories leading up to tipoff of the opening round of games on Friday.

Here are the PIAA basketball playoff pairings and seedings featuring Beaver Valley teams:
