Pairings finalized for Class A and B boys basketball regions
The postseason has arrived for area Class A and B boys basketball teams, which begin play this week in region tournaments.
The top two teams in each region will advance to SoDak 16 state-qualifying games on Tuesday, March 7. The state B tourney is March 16-18 at Aberdeen and the state A March 16-18 at Sioux Falls.
Here are pairings for regions involving area teams:
Region 1A
Tuesday: At Summit, No. 8 seed Sisseton (1-9) vs. No. 1 Waubay-Summit (17-3, 6 p.m. and No. 4 Tiospa Zina (10-9) vs. No. 5 Aberdeen Roncalli (9-11), 7:30 p.m. At Groton, No 2 Groton Area (14-5) vs. No. 7 Webster Area (4-15), 6 p.m. and No. 3 Milbank (13-7) vs. No. 6 Redfield (8-12), 7:30 p.m.
Friday: Semifinals, TBD.
Region 2A
Monday: No. 9 Elkton-Lake Benton (6-14) at No. 8 Flandreau (8-12), 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday: Elkton-Lake Benton/Flandreau winner at No. 1 Sioux Valley, time to be determined; No. 5 Estelline-Hendricks (11-9) at No. 4 Deuel (12-8), 7 p.m.; No. 7 Great Plains Lutheran (9-11) at No. 2 Hamlin (16-3), TBD; No. 6 Florence-Henry (10-10) at Clark-Willow Lake (14-5), TBD.
Friday: Semifinals, TBD.
Region 6A
Tuesday: No. 8 North Central (1-19) vs. No. 1 McLaughlin (10-8), No. 5 Dupree (4-15) vs. No. 4 Mobridge-Pollock (10-10), No. 7 Stanley County (3-17) vs. No. 2 Miller (11-9) and No. 6 Cheyenne-Eagle Butte (2-18) vs. No. 3 Crow Creek (9-11). Times and sites not listed on SDHSAA web site.

Region 1B
Monday: No. 9 Wilmot (1-18) at No. 8 Britton-Hecla (2-17), 7 p.m.
Tuesday: Wilmot/Britton-Hecla winner at No. 1 Aberdeen Christian (18-2), 7 p.m. in the Aberdeen Civic Arena; No. 5 Hitchcock-Tulare (10-10) at No. 4 Leola-Frederick Area (11-9), 7 p.m. in Leola; No. 7 Langford Area (4-16) at No. 2 Northwestern (15-5), 7 p.m.; and No. 6 Waverly-South Shore (10-10) at No. 3 Warner (13-7), 7 p.m.
Friday: Semifinals at 6 and 7:30 p.m. in the Webster Armory.
Region 2B
