Pakistanis protest over derogatory remarks made about Prophet Mohammad

STORY: Crowds of protesters burned an effigy depicting suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokeswoman Nupur Sharma, who along with another party official made comments on the prophet and his private life earlier this month.

Protesters from Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), a religious and political party, marched through the streets, joined by crowds of people from Ahl-i-Sunnat Wal Jamaat, a political and religious group, who chanted slogans demanding the expulsion of an Indian High Commissioner and the boycott of Indian products.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government has faced backlash from Muslims around the world on the remarks which were made by two senior officials of India’s ruling BJP party.
