Palestinian President Abbas to speak in U.N. Security Council on U.S. peace plan -envoy

UNITED NATIONS, Jan 29 (Reuters) - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will speak in the United Nations Security Council in the next two weeks about the U.S. Middle East peace plan, Palestinian U.N. envoy Riyad Mansour said on Wednesday.

Mansour said he hoped the Security Council, at the same meeting that Abbas would address, would vote on a draft resolution on the Israeli-Palestinian peace plan unveiled by U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday. (Reporting by Michelle Nichols; Writing by Mohammad Zargham; editing by Jonathan Oatis)
