Palestinians cool off in hand built hillside pool
Father builds hillside pool
with the help of his neighbors
just in time for summer

"The pool is very nice, we are enjoying it. We have a good time while we are here. We wanted to plant the place in the beginning but after we discovered the cave, we built the pool instead, it is a very nice idea - and bye!"
It took just under four months
for Mohammed and his neighbors
to transform a space
where the hills curve inward
into a secluded pool
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) PALESTINIAN RESIDENT OF BILIN, MOHAMMED AL-KHATIB, SAYING:
"We were unable to move around in general, but we found a place where we could spend time and play sports in nature. This is also a way for us to take care of our land because we, Palestinians, suffer from the occupation, from the West Bank Barrier and the settlements which cut off most of our land."
