Palestinians are restoring windows of the Al-Aqsa Mosque

The iconic stained-glass windows were damaged

during the recent clashes between Palestinians and Israeli forces

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) MANAGER OF AL-AQSA RECONSTRUCTION COMMITTEE, BASSAM HALLAQ, SAYING: "The Al-Aqsa mosque and the Dome of the Rock both have various gypsum windows, these windows are known to be made of gypsum and pieces of stained-glass. These windows are made in the workshop of the reconstruction committee by Palestinian technicians and is all done by hand, no electronics are used, therefore each window takes around 6 months of work."

The windows form an integral part of the mosque's architecture
