Maybe next time.

For a little less than an hour, Palm Bay was one of the coldest places along the Space Coast.

However, no records were set as frost settled across front yards, some cars, and wetlands across Brevard.

The official low for Melbourne was 34 degrees, but in Palm Bay, weather reports had the temperature dipping to 32 for about 45 minutes around sunrise.

"It was only for a short duration," said Kevin Rodriguez, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Melbourne. "It wasn't impactful enough to damage any vegetation.

The record low for the day remains 29 degrees set in 2003, Rodriguez said.

The low temperatures — expected to be the coldest of the week — came as a cold front swept across the state.

A gradual warmup is expected throughout the week, along with an increase in rain chances by Tuesday night. Highs are exected in low- to mid 70s, with lows in the 40s and 50s.
