It was a big summer for Palm Beach winter rez Larry Herbert, who crossed the continent to celebrate a new space bearing his name at the American Film Institute Conservatory.

The newly built Lawrence Herbert Alumni Center, is the product of Herbert's major leadership gift to the film school, where he served on the board 30 years.

The center is a dedicated space for alumni to gather for networking, career enrichment events and meetings.

Guests at the ceremony included Alumni Council chair Marshall Herskovitz ('75) and council co-founders Deniese Davis ('12), Unjoo Moon ('98) and Alessandro Uzielli ( '89).

Speaking of showbiz

The Bill Bone Every Place You Can Imagine Summer Tour stopped in Edinburgh, when its famous Fringe Festival was in full swing.

No, it's not a Dolly Parton drag show. It's all about arts and culture.

Bone reports that Palm Beach resident Robert Lloyd George has written a play called "Winston & David" about the intense, nearly lifelong, and unusual friendship between Winston Churchill the aristocratic politician and Lloyd George, the son of a cobbler from Wales.

The play, Bone said, "was the chief reason for my visit to Scotland. I had the privilege of being the guest of the author, and met the cast and creative team at an impromptu reception in the courtyard of the theatre.

"It was a terrific show at one of the great venues of the festival — the historic teaching auditorium of the University Of Edinburgh Medical School."

We figured it was impromptu when we looked at the pic. That ain't Baccarat they're drinking from.

That wedding bells were ringing for Ginger Feuer and Larry Leeds last weekend. Nonagenarian Larry, widower of Dahlia, and septugenarian Ginger, widow of Mike, reconnected at a dinner last year. The two couples had previously been friends. For, like, forty years. Not what you'd call a whirlwind courtship ... that stylish couple  Simon Doonan and Jonathan Adler were named to the International Best-Dressed list.
