If you see Peter Brant out and about, give him a great big attaboy.

The Palm Beach resident went home from Thursday night's gathering of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) with a pretty nice souvenir ... an Eclipse Award.

More Palm Beach society news here.

Actually it was his horse, Regal Glory, who earned the Eclipse Award for Champion Female Turf Horse, but Brant accepted for the horse. Well, she doesn't have any hands to carry it home and nowhere to sit during dinner, so ...

During his speech, Brant showed that he's just a big ol' softy when he invoked the memory of the late Paul Pompa, Regal Glory's breeder and Brant's longtime friend.

"It was my connection with him as a friend that brought me to Regal Glory," Brant said. "Paul, I know you're up there somewhere and very proud of Regal Glory."

Brant also was second in the Owner of the Year category, won by Godolphin's Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Not easy to beat a guy who pads his horses' stalls with 100 dollar bills instead of hay because he has more of the Benjamins than the world has hay. OK, he doesn't really do that. We totally made that up.

Rising star

Award-winning journalist Amy Fine Collins and vintage-fashion-guy-to-the-stars Cameron Silver teamed up to host a cocktail reception and book signing in honor of Amy's daughter Flora Collins and her new book, A Small Affair.

The Colony's Solarium was packed cheek-by-jowl Jan. 16 with an attractive multi-generational crowd, many of whom were either going to or coming from a reception for Cardinal Timothy Dolan going on elsewhere.

Spotted: Simon Doonan and Jonathan Adler, Liz Lange, Veronica Webb, Grace and Chris Meigher, Annette Tapert, Christy Ferer, Gigi and Harry Benson, Ambassador John and Sharon Loeb, Somers and Jonathan Farkas, Priscilla Rattazzi, Elizabeth Salzman, Sarah Wetenhall, Susan Magrino, Richard Johnson, Eric Viner, Isabella Kron, Erica Karsch, Lily Clempson and a bunch more who know that its better to have two martinis under the belt after seeing the cardinal, not before.

An anniversary celebration

In the intensely competitive restaurant business, 20 years is an epoch. So, of course, Cafe Boulud Palm Beach had to celebrate.

The event took place Jan.18 at the restaurant and included the presence of Michelin-starred Chef Daniel Boulud and his wife, Katherine.

Themed ''One Night In Rio'' — a clever nod to the restaurant's home at The Brazilian Court — the evening included barely clad Brazilian dancers, fire performers and a drum line.

There were passed hors d'oeuvres and food stations around the courtyard with offerings from former Executive Chefs Rick Mace and Zach Bell, as well as current Executive Chef Dieter Samijn.

And let's not forget our good friends Laurent Perrier, Remy Martin and Whispering Angel, who always show up in pink.
