With the COVID-19 pandemic waning, Palm Beach synagogues are ready to celebrate the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur.

Rabbi Zalman Levitin of Chabad House said he expects record crowds this year.

"We are living in a time where, after not having human contact for so long, people really want to go to services and appreciate small luxuries, including attending a warm and welcoming High Holiday service where all are welcome regardless of background or affiliation."

The Jewish New Year festival of Rosh Hashana is scheduled for Sept. 25-27. It is marked by the blowing of the shofar, and begins 10 days of penitence culminating in Yom Kippur, Oct. 4 and 5.
