Palm Coast motorcyclist killed in crash with deer

A Palm Coast man died after crashing his motorcycle into a couple of deer early Sunday, Florida Highway Patrol investigators said.

The 50-year-old man crashed into two deer at 12:45 a.m. at Firethorn and Fir Crest lanes in Palm Coast, troopers said.

The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was traveling east on Firethorn Lane when the deer walked into his path. The motorcycle struck both animals and slid onto its side in the road, according to FHP.

The motorcyclist was transported to AdventHealth Palm Coast where he died, troopers said.
