The Palm Springs Wine & Food Experience is coming this fall. Here's what to know about the event

USA TODAY's signature dining event is coming to the desert this fall.

“We’re excited to bring the Wine & Food Experience to Palm Springs this year,” said Jason Taylor, president of USA TODAY NETWORK Ventures.

This event functions as a grand tour of the culinary scene in Palm Springs and the greater Coachella Valley. The experience is part of an eight-city tour — with stops in Indianapolis; Louisville, Kentucky; Asheville, North Carolina; Tampa and Paradise Coast in Florida; and Ventura in California — and celebrates the best chefs, wine and food in each participating USA TODAY NETWORK community.

The ticketed event, which takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, will offer attendees a behind-the-scenes look into the culinary world through unlimited samples of food, wine and craft beers as well as demonstrations by chefs, sommeliers and mixologists.

Food samples will be provided by Chef Gustavo Carreon of Clandestino, Chef Guadalupe Carreon of The Front Porch at Farm, Chef Larry Monaco of Chi-Chi Restaurant at The Avalon Hotel & Bungalows and other popular valley food and drink providers. The full list of participants is scheduled to be announced in August.

“The festival celebrates the local culinary scene and highlights many great businesses, and we’re proud to be a part of this event," Taylor said. "Now, more than ever, local restaurants need the support of the community, and this event gives people the opportunity to sample food and drink they might not have previously experienced.”

USA TODAY aims to support participating restaurants by alleviating costs and offering sponsorships as a way for companies to give back, from offering a flat donation of $250 to every restaurant to help alleviate the cost of participating to reaching out to culinary schools to provide volunteer workers for the event.

VIP tickets are $100 and general admission Grand Tasting tickets are $65. VIP tickets provide early access to the event at noon and include access to a VIP Lounge with exclusive sampling.
