Palmetto Women’s Center raising funds to purchase maternity home to house expectant mothers
The Palmetto Women’s Center is raising funds to buy what will become a maternity home.
Our partners at CN2 News report that the women’s center is looking to buy a five-bedroom house in the York area.
The center is hoping to open the home next year for women between the ages of 17 and 36, CN2 reports.

Palmetto Women’s Center will allow women to move in as soon as they find out they’re pregnant until they give birth, according to CN2.
The center won’t only provide a room for expectant mothers but also a family structure and free transportation to and from work or school.
Maternity Home Director Kaitlyn House told CN2 about the different stages of the program.
“There are four stages to the program: hope, transformation, and sustainability, so getting these women into a role where they have healthy habits,” House told CN2.
As of now, the center is $130,000 shy of its goal to purchase the maternity home. An online fundraiser has been started for the home, and a movie night is planned for June 23 in York as well, CN2 reports.
