Atlanta Public Library acts as the landlord of the property. The lease for the Palms Grill Café runs from May 1 through April 30, with an annual option to renew. Rent is $400 per month.

The Palms Grill Café originally opened in 1934 and was famous for serving home-cooked meals along with weekly dances in the backroom. Unfortunately the restaurant closed in the late 1960s but with community support the grill was restored back to its 1935 décor and opened to the public in 2009.

The grill attracts bus tours, senior groups, Red Hat Societies, and individuals both young and old from across the country and globe.
