Panda Cub Crawls to Mom at Smithsonian National Zoo

A giant panda cub began exploring its surroundings as it crawled to its mother at Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, video posted on September 30 shows.

Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute said the cub was “crawling under the watchful eye of mother Mei Xiang.”

Staff at the zoo welcomed the birth of the cub on August 21, making it six weeks old on October 2.
