Dawson Jaco and Cole Purcell, Bushland

The entire Falcons team could be on this list the way it played Friday, but Jaco and Purcell were a cut above. Jaco finished 19-of-25 for 247 yards and five touchdowns while Purcell finished with two touchdown catches and a pick-six.

Ceasar Amaya and Darian DeLaRosa, Bovina

Amaya finished with five catches for 114 yards while DeLaRosa had eight for 111 yards and two total touchdowns. Quarterback Daniel Herrera contributed three total touchdowns and 310 passing yards as well.

Caden Peevey, Shamrock

What didn't Peevey do this week? The senior forced a fumble, deflected three passes and recorded and interception on defense while rushing for 191 yards and four scores on offense on just 15 carries.

Charlie Sepeda and Marcos Flores, Memphis

The Cyclones have already surpassed their win total from last season with a 2-0 start and the two running backs are a big reason for that. Sepeda rushed 20 times for 130 yards and a touchdown while Flores had 11 carries for 104 yards and a score.

Dylan McWhorter, Borger

The Borger defense was fantastic Friday night and any number of players who logged snaps could be here. We give the nod to McWhorter, who finished with eight tackles, three tackles for a loss and two fumble recoveries.

Isaiah Brown, Boys Ranch

The Roughriders dual-threat option at quarterback rushed for 162 yards and one touchdown while completing half of his passes (8-of-16) for 145 yards and an additional two scores.

Hayden Hill, White Deer

The Bucks are 2-0 and Hill played a large hand in that this week. Four catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns, a 50 yard run, a team-leading five tackles and a pick-six for him.

Estacado's Bobby Ross looks for room against Dumas's Sabien Perry, Friday, Sept. 2, 2022, at PlainsCapitol Park at Lowrey Field. Dumas wins, 34-7.

Mario Bautista, Friona

Friona lost to Panhandle 21-20, but Bautista did his part. The running back finished with 150 yards on 30 carries.

Sabien Perry, Dumas

Jaydan Tovar had two sacks, Aurelio Medrano had 14 tackles and Caden Venzor, Parker Dunnam and Tanner Koehn each forced fumbles. The Demons whole defense was outstanding. Perry, however, had 13 tackles, two TFLs, a sack and a hurry as he lived in the Estacado backfield.

Daniel Sianez and Jaxher Lopez, Muleshoe

Muleshoe's offense had a number of contributors, but Sianez had 162 yards on 20 carries to lead the effort. Lopez was outright filthy as he finished with eight tackles, four sacks, three TFLs and a pick-six.

Derrek Clements, Sam Johnson and Hunter Wilson, Canyon

Man what an effort by the Eagles. Clements went 24-of-37 for 335 yards and six touchdowns to six different receivers. Wilson was his top target as he hauled in five catches for 140 yards and a touchdown. But to top it all off, Johnson was a force on the ground with 171 yards and a touchdown on just 19 carries. Also shoutout to Javin Cash who had 21 tackles with two sacks on defense.

Bryce Braden, Stratford

The defending state champs are off to a 2-0 start and their new QB is a big reason for that. Braden went 11-of-17 for 182 yards and three touchdowns with just one interception while also running for 63 yards and a score on 12 carries.

Cason Mackie, Spearman

Spearman's versatile offensive weapon caught three passes for 62 yards and one touchdown and added 77 yards and took two more trips to the end zone on the ground.

Nathan Baker and Nathan White, Randall

Baker finished Thursday's game with seven catches for 145 yards and three touchdowns, while returning a punt for a fourth score. Meanwhile, White completed 11-of-15 passes for 207 yards and four touchdowns.

Max Neff and Tripper Taylor, Pampa

The Harvesters tailback rushed for 297 yards and two scores in a 25-21 win over Plainview. Taylor finished with four sacks.

Tayden Barnes, Tascosa

Barnes scored three touchdowns and totaled 73 yards on the ground, had a big 31-yard reception and forced a fumble near the goal line with a crunching hit to complete his all-around night.

Jamel Acosta-Lewis, Caprock

The Longhorn offense was stagnant before a switch to Jamel Acosta-Lewis and the 'Batman' formation with him lining up at quarterback in the second half. Caprock's senior captain finished Thursday's 23-3 win over Palo Duro with 62 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries to carry the Horns past the Dons.

Tryce Johnson, Happy

Johnson rushed for 222 yards and six touchdowns on 21 carries while leading the Cowboys in tackles with 13 tackles, one for a loss.

Pratt McLain, Gruver

He may have only had 50 yards, but the standout running back punched the ball into the end zone three times to help get Gruver the win.

Haiden Thompson, Miami

Went 5-of-8 for 129 yards and three touchdown passes while rushing for 53 yards and two scores on five carries and compiling six tackles, one for a loss and two interceptions ... in the first quarter.

Braylon Norman, Highland Park

HP was on the losing end of this one, but Norman hauled in 12 receptions for 196 yards and four toucdowns.
