The Cox Science Center and Aquarium (CSCA) hosted its Nine and Wine Golf Tournament Sept. 22 at the Palm Beach Par 3 as a kickoff for its Conservation Cup event next month.

The kickoff included a welcome reception, a nine-hole scramble for teams of two or four persons, and a post-play awards and wine ceremony at Al Fresco.

“Our Nine and Wine kickoff is always the exciting precursor to the social season and yearlong fundraising,” said Kate Arrizza, president and CEO at CSCA. “If it’s any indicator to the strength of our mission and multi-million capital campaign, then we are bound for a very successful and prolific year."

Rebecca Seelig and Carolyn Sasso were chairwomen, and Scott Butler, Mack Perry and Jeff Smith were co-chairmen for the Nine and Wine.

The Science Center’s annual Conservation Cup is scheduled for Oct. 24 at Mayacoo Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach.

Committee members included D.J. and Tory Amerson, Arrizza, Suely Berelson, Sean Burnie, Wendy Cox, Lew and Kathleen Crampton, Phil Doumar, Matt Ferguson, Michael and Jennifer Fisher, David and Nadine Fite, Micah Ford, Allen and Jodi Gast, Dennis Goldstein, Melinda Grenz, Marcy Hoffman, Page Lee Hufty, Jeremy and Sunni Johnson, Brandy Lowe, Rich and Kelly Luchini, Carrie Perry, Michael Perry, Grier and Kristy Pressly, Kevin Probel, Cater and Alice Randolph, Karly Randolph, Brian Ray, Cari Rentas, Ed and Carolyn Sasso, Lee Seelig, Kyle and Traci Sheehan, Liza Smith, Brian Smith, Kellie Stenzel, Colin and Lauren Walker, Robbie Wight, and Bob and Nancy Wildrick.

All proceeds benefit the Science Center and its mission to open every mind to science.
