American gymnast Simone Biles received a hearty welcome as she rode into her hometown of Spring, Texas, on August 5 after returning from her headline-making appearance at the Tokyo Olympic games.

Video taken by Christopher Gunter shows Biles and fellow Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles greeting hundreds of fans in a parade as they drove into the Houston suburb where both Biles and Chiles live and train.

In the video, Biles is seen sitting atop a convertible waving to the enthusiastic crowd and saying, “Thank you! Love you guys!” with Chiles greeting fans behind her.

After Biles withdrew from the team gymnastics finals and individual all-around events, citing mental health concerns, she ended the Tokyo games winning a bronze medal in the women’s balance beam final and a silver medal with the women’s team performance.
