Parent charged with bringing weapon to North Meck High School, CMS says

A North Mecklenburg High School parent came onto campus with a knife Monday, officials with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools district confirmed.

Gun found on student at South Meck HS, district confirms

An arrest warrant identified the parent as Luis Berry and said he pulled a knife on a student. It also stated he started a fight with the student.

A school resource officer confronted Berry near the gym.

He did not get into the school with the knife, CMS officials said.

Berry has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, trespassing, and possession of a weapon on school property.
